I was just recently asked “What is a mermaid?” Obviously she wasn’t asking the obvious.. So I sat for a minute, I hadn’t actually thought about what it meant to be a mermaid…  I answered very vaguely, “you know, a woman who’s special, unbelievable, magical, with beautiful soul.”

After giving a lot of thought into this question and why I call this page what I do, I realized that a mermaid was even more. They are the square pegs in round holes, the free spirited, they are the run with the wolves, these woman aren’t just humans, they are just a breed of something special! The ones who never quite fit in. The ones that need a reminder that they are loved and wanted in this World of ever changing beauty standards.

Mermaids are so much more. Mermaids are in each one of our souls. The beauty that makes a sailor go overboard or a man drop to his knees. Each one of us has that ability, we just have to see it for ourselves, even if we may not fit into society’s standards. We all are worthy of Love no matter what! And that is what I call a Mermaid!!
